Newborn Sessions are held in the comfort of your own home as a convenience to you. I photograph using natural light and with your help, will determine the best area in your home to shoot in. I bring all my own equipment and props so no need to worry about anything like that. You will have plenty to choose from the day of your session.

When to Schedule
The best time to contact me is before you have your baby. I will then add you to my calendar around your expected due date and send newborn session details. Once your baby arrives, please email or text message me with a picture, full name and birth stats and we’ll figure out a day for me to come to your home. I prefer to do newborn sessions within the first 10 days of life, so it’s important to contact me after delivery. The first weeks work best to get the curly poses and longer amounts of deep sleep to pose and style. After two weeks of age, newborns are more likely to be disturbed while sleeping, and can also become fussy.

Session Preparation
Before the shoot, please feed baby 2-3 hours prior, and plan on feeding him/her as soon as I get there to set up, no sooner. Also, please do not let him sleep beforehand, instead try giving him a bath, let him kick with only a diaper, tickle his toes, and even let him fuss for a little bit (no pacifiers) for the few hours beforehand. This will ensure those squishy, sleepy newborn pictures! I can’t stress that it’s so important to do your best to keep him awake. Sessions last between 2-3 hours, sometimes longer if baby is a light sleeper, or is hungry. The easiest way to ensure a sleepy baby is the willingness to nurse/bottlefeed off and on. If you can, have the soothie pacifier the hospital sent you home with. It’s the bendable, green/blue/orangish one, and won’t leave marks. Even if you haven’t used one, just for the 2 hours that I’m posing him/her usually really helps. However if you really prefer that we don’t use one, that’s fine as well!

After Your Session
Once your session is complete, if requested, sneek peeks can be posted on my Facebook page for you and your family to view and share. My turnaround time for images is 4-6 weeks in which you will receive an email with information and a link to access your instant download gallery.
